I have noticed a few small cracks/tears starting to appear in the drivers seat leather (insert fat joke) of my Grand Cherokee. Is there any way to repair this or prevent it from worsening short of replacing the leather cover. I know duct tape would work but i am going for a more stock look. Thanks

Cheap Seat cover!! or
3 things come to mind.

See how much to get a new seat skin from jeep. I am sure it will be expensive.

Get it repaired at a upholstery shop

try to locate a entire used unit in junk yard, ebay, swap meet.

I would avoid those leather repair kits cause they never work. trust me on this on, they don't work!!

Fiberglass tub,hood& fenders???

Yeah I already checked with Jeep they want $700 for a new leather skin. I havent gone the upholstery shop route yet. I wanted to see if anyone had experience with anything. I dont think I am going to get away with finding one in the junk yard. The jeep is still fairly new. I cant really do covers either. All the other seats are in great condition. So it looks like I am going to have to give an upholstery shop a ring. Has anyone else tried the leather repair kits?

I´ve tried the leather repair in various formats. With mixed results. I´ve used a fast glue on cracks, that stopped the tear. But it usually would start in another spot. Large tears I´ve fixed with a contact type cement and a patch on the bottom side, that lasted well.
The non electric seats are fairly easy to take apart. Haven´t taken my electric seats apart yet. I have a suspicion the right and left seat covers are interchangeable and may try, finding a passenger seat bottom at a junk yard.
