Lift Ideas?

I have a '01 XJ Sport. I'm looking to get a 3" lift kit. Most of the kits I've seen so far have only the add-a-leaf rear springs. Any ideas on (complete) kits with NEW rear springs?

I recommend the Rubicon Express 3.5 lift. If your going to fourwheel and want a new leaf set I would go with the 3.5 SuperFlex kit, but if it's just for the road then I'd go with the 3.5 SuperRide kit. There's the add-a-leaf kit and new leaf kit for both lifts I believe.

RE: Cheap windshield motor needed

i'll second the vote for the Rusty's kit... i put that 3" complete spring pack kit on my first XJ and it was AWESOME. great value, awesome ride, great performance... call up rusty's and just talk to them about what you're doing and i promise you'll fall in love with the company too!

I've dealt with Rusty's many times, no problems. Running his YJ lift now.

This is mostly for on-road driving. Other than just new springs and shocks, what else will I need to do in order to do this right? Lower the transfer case? Anything else?

my 3" kit didn't require any transfer case drop or anything, didn't even get it aligned (but i should have kuz my tires WORE BADLY!)

RE: Swap in a cruise control?

You'll need to lower the transfer case .5" on an '01, pretty much required with any lift on '97+ XJ's.

You'll also need to redrill the lower mount on the front track bar. Wait until the lift is installed and weight on the suspension, then determine how far towards the driver's side you need to redrill the lower hole to recenter the axle. Mine was about .5" with 3" coils.

RE: Brake line flaring

Rusty's from Rusty's website or Rubicon Express from www.jeepinoutfitters.com (free shipping and some kits have free shocks).

Rusty's combo of price and quality are tough to beat.

Definately get the spring packs. AAL don't ride quite as bad as everyone says but they don't flex much and sag quickly. You can get them, but they will be temporary ;)
