CJ7 lift ?

Thanks for all the help so far! I think Bounty Hunter turned me on to the motorcraft upgrade first and I found one in the local junk yard today on a 79 wagoneer. It should be a 2150 going by all I have found on all the sites I have looked at. Picken it up in the morning and given it a shot. The donor Jeep was running good a few weeks ago.

Will keep you all posted as I get started and hope it goes well. Thanks again for all the in put. I just so did not want to give the bucks up for a new carb. This and a valve seal, pivot, lifter replacement shoud put the ol CJ in ready for a lift and tires status.

Wish this ol hill~billy luck! thanks tug

Re: Not Quite

Good luck, should keep that 'ole jeep running strong. Let us know how it goes.

Need help already! I bought the carb and have it home but it seems the one I have is bigger than I need MC2150. I need the 108 and have the 121. The 108 is a 450 cfm and the 121 is a 575 cfm. Can I rejet or something to bring this down to what I need or am I stuck with a wrong carb that I can not use? From what I have read it is to big of a barrel and I am going to be looking again! tug

Hello Tug,

If you cannot return the carb, I would give it a shot and use the 2150, as is.

What have you to lose?

OK, the Motorcraft isn't the optimal carb, but if Tugly runs better with it than the BBD, you might be able to at least use the Jeep until such time as you locate a smaller Motorcraft.
