I've had a clatter sound randomly when stopped and when turning off the heep. I've chased it for a year. Been to 3 real mechanics and countless backyard hacks. Got no help from no where. Today I changed out my transmission filter and the noise is totally gone. 0 clatter. Runs like a top.
This might be of no help to all of you who know what your doing as far as engines go. But for my green, no mechanic skills having self, this is a god send.
Best I can figure, the transmission was not fully disengaging.
But the only real mechanic experience I have is owning a used high mileage jeep for a year.
Might not help much but figured if this helps one lost jeep sole I've made the world a better place; and I can try to repay the cornucopia of knowledge I've gotten from this forum
