need advice

[blown XJ]

i got a 1989 jeep xj with a 8 inch lift and 35 inch boggers. it has a dana 44 rear axle with a strange spool. 4.56s front and rear. the motor is a 4 liter. and i have a 5 speed transmission. it worka pretty good. but around here we get some nasty mud, my question is what can i do to make a better combo. i hate to have to rev my 4 liter up in the high rpms to claw though a hole but with out this gears my jeep is kinda guttless. any suggestion would be awsome
