Need new cat

My catalytic converter is rusted out I need a new one but there is no tag under the hood that says it is or is not California emissions how else can I find this out?

Are you located in California, and trying to pass emissions there? If you aren't in CA then I don't think it matters what cat you run (as long as it's 49 state legal).

New York which follows California but if it came with a fed emissions then I came out that back, but there is no tag label or sticker or evidence of any under the hood

or see what the muffler shop tells you. they will put on one that meets the requirement for your state or they get in trouble
