A couple weeks ago I bought my first Jeep. I love it but have a question.
I have noticed that the Clutch seems to work fine but the pedal doesnt come back 100% it stays down for a while and slowely returns.
Anything would help.

Not a mechanic here but have driven cluthes all my life. Took me a while to get used to hydraulic clutches (I think my first was a Toyota truck). Sounds like a hydraulic issue...Jeeps have both a master and a slave cylinder assisting you (hydraulically) with your "footage". Sounds hydraulic to me. Hope that helps some...........I'm sure better advice will be following.

MUD nailed it. The clutch pedal relies on the clutch master cylinders travel and pressure. The pedal is not sprung independently fom the master cylinder thus when the pedal doesn't retract back to the normal height, the master cylinder would be a good suspect for this condition. Check the master and slave for leaks and proper fluid level. If those checks out good, try to bleed it and see if the pressure gets better on pushing the pedal back up to height. If not, either you have a worn clutch and pressure plate or a faulty master and or slave cylinder.

Thanks guys, it was a little low on fluid. I wasnt aware they used both slave and master cylinder. I love this Jeep. Went up in the mountains last night it was great. Look forward to more posts and hopefully making some new friends.
