I've got a 78 CJ that is a POS that i'm trying to put back together and I've got two questions. First off, what is a good CHEAP seat bolt it, or is there one? I've heard of civic seats used, but never seen it. Also my turnsignal lever is broken off, is there a way I can weld on a rod to the origional lever, or should I start looking on EBAy?

Thanks

I have Steel Horse brand seats front and rear. They changed names, but the same seats are still around. They are the high back ones you see on ebay. The front seats were about $100 each, and they are very comfortable and have lasted me about 3 years with no noticeable wear or tear so far. I'd highly recommend them if you are willing to spend a little more than junkyard prices.

I put seats out of a Liberty in my YJ. You need to cut one rivet off to remove the Libery floor bracket, then drill one hole to mount it to the existing floor bracket. The CJ may be similar, or you may be able to fab up something to use the Libby floor mount. I don't remember the differences in them, but I would think the Libby mount would be too short.

Celica seats, I've seen guys use those, and they ahve nice side bolsters. I don't know about direct bolt in though, for some reason I think I've heard mustang seats, but DO NOT quote me on that.

Yuppers, Mustang seats are a direct bolt-in. Nice, supportive, tight seats, too. A guy at work has them in his CJ and they are awesome!

Loads of seats on E-bay. Most junkyard seats will require making an adapter for the seat. Don't forget the sliders if you don't have any.
