PCV valve leaking *again*

Okay, I've got this old AMC 258 in my cj7 and i've had alot of work done on it recently.

One of the problems that i have always noticed is that oil always leaks out of the pcv right at the grommet.

These things don't sit too securely, and the only thing holding it down is the weight of the other hoses on top of it.

Recently, i had my valve cover crack and start spewing oil everywhere, so i had to replace the valve cover. I decided to get one of those nice aluminium ones like the ones they sell on quadratrac.

After installing this shiny new valve cover, i'm seeing that the PCV grommet is STILL LEAKING even though all the parts have been replaced.

So here's the question: What the hell can i do to secure this thing so that it sits tight enough NOT to leak short of massive ammounts of duct tape?!?!

I had the same problem, all I did was take a couple wraps of black electrical tape around the pcv. With the grommet I took it out and put some rtv around it and good as new[addsig]

okay, two questions.

First, i thought about the electrical tape option, but i'm concerned about the temperature melting it.

Second, wtf is rtv?

I just used it cause it was black. You could use some high temp fiberglass tape, works good, just not when you have a cylinder running extremely lean and the exhaust manifold is glowing red hot and melting your plug boots, the tape will only last a short time, but it'll get you home. Using it on the pcv should do great, you should be able to get it at a hardware store. I'm not to sure where I got mine, found it in the tool box.[addsig]
