power steering

I own a 1980 cj5 with a 151-4 cylinder. This is my first jeep. So far i've done some cosmetics and built and installed bumpers and rock gaurds. My problem is that I want to install power steering. where do I start? [addsig]

Welcome dude and hope you get to know everyone here. Are you set on power! I like the feel of manual stering? On a five I think it is just part of the jeep mystic. My 2 cents tug[addsig]

Well you need to replace the steering box with a power one and you will need the power steering pump, hoses, and reservior (if its external....some are part of the pump itself). The column might be different as well...not sure on that. Power steering is nice, especially when you have big tires. If you put larger that stock tires you will want power steering...unless you want to look like popeye hehe.[addsig]
