red light

This is probably a simple question but here goes. There is a small red light on the left side on the dash in my 1990 Wrangler Islander. I don't know what it is for. Any help? Thanks.

Have you seen it light up at all? More than likely you are going to have to get behind it and follow the wires to figure it out.

Sounds like a "shift" light...but i don't know if those are equipped with something like that or not..
