Hi all,
New to forum and had my jeep for over 20 years now. I have a 1983 CJ7 Limited. I have replaced the motor and put an EFI system on it. I am doing interior work now. I have a new speedo and gauges which I have pulled out. I want to replace the black instrument panel cover. I am looking this over and find that the knobs must come off and unscrew the cover plates. I read in an article on here that it will come off without doing this. I don't see how. The new switches come without the knobs on them and evidently they have to come off. Heat maybe?
I also need to remove the the indicator lights on the dash. I see that they are plastic housings behind. Do you squeeze with pliers and pop them out? Just trying to do minimum damage here. Thanks
Bob
