I just had the same problem adjusting the hinges on my TJ; kept stripping out the inside of the torx bolt/screw. Steelheadz suggested a manual impact wrench. I highly recommend you use one as it forces the bit down as it turns but this alone did not break the bolts loose. I used a utility knife to cut the paint bond from around the bolt and the hinge then heated the bolt with a torch and had no further problems getting the bolts out. Not sure if this will work for a JK.
I bought a the impact wrench at Harbor Freight for about $6.50 but you need to pick up the torx bits as the wrench only came with slotted and philips bits. Make sure you get the right shaft size but the bits should be on the same rack as the wrench.
