i got a set of rubicon springs and shocks for cristina's jeep and i finally started installing them. these coil spring suspension systems are so easy to swap parts on, i love htem. anyways, i only got the front done because i started at 1830 and the temp dropped to the 50s this evening. plus, i have no air tools so i do everything the hard way.

on to the pics of the progress so far.

this jeep had stock 12 springs. i installed stock rubicon 18 springs, second highest spring pn you can find so its the second stiffest spring available.

see the size differences? obviously, the smaller spring is the 12. the shocks are different also with the red rubicon shocks being a lit thicker and a half inch or so longer.

here it was when we parked next to a sahara with 17 or 18 springs on it, i don;t remember which number though

take these four bolts out.
1. sway bar
2. brake line
3. lower shock bolt
4. one of the upper shock bolts
and then loosen the other upper shock bolts so you can take the shock out

Looks good, a little lift makes a big diffrence. I'm a little confused on the shocks, the red one is the one that is being installed and is from a rubicon model, replaceing the smaller black one,{correct?} It just puzzles me cause I thought that new shocks and springs was being installed, but the red shock is used and dirty.

They are used. They are factory take off from a low mileage rubicon, just like the rims, and front bumper that I have I the garage. :)

Rubicon stuff bolts on in place of lower model parts but is heavier duty parts, as you can see in the pics. The shocks made a huge difference because before, I would kind of get the feeling of death wobble starting on certain types of bumps but since I put on those beefier shocks, this thing is a solid rider now. I like the more solid truck like ride those springs/shocks give the jeep versus the car like ride it ha previously and before, the old springs were sagging so much that that the bump stops were being hit on normal roads we drive everyday. Now that the jeep is up in the air again, no more thunk from bottoming the suspension out.
