Pad under the carpet! Good thinck rubber floor mats! I have even herd of some one cutting sheet insulation like goes on a house the blue board to fit the tub cavities. But the best sound insulation is a hard top. Hope this helps Tug[addsig]

to cut down on noise from the top flapping in the wind. Leave the bikini top on when you put up the soft top[addsig]

I ripped out my carpet, applied the 2 coats rubberized under coating to the floor, then installed new carpet set (124.00) with 1/2 inch padding from Quadratec. It made a big difference.[addsig]

I put some 'icesheet' material underneath the carpet in my Jeep. All of you down south probably don't know what this is but here is a description for those who don't know. All it basically consists of is a tar-like sheet that adhears to floor. Much like 'Dynamat' but easier to work with and A LOT CHEAPER. It seems to have made a big difference and since it is stuck down, it could be taken back out at some point, although I don't know why anyone would. [addsig]

I went out and bought an air spray gun that screws onto the top of a can of ProForm rubber undercoating (you need an aircompressor). I gutted my interior and sprayed it with this stuff about 1/4 inch thick. It works great if you want to get rid of your old ratty carpet. It helped a little with road noise but not too much. I've had it in for about 1 1/2 years now and it stands up very well to abuse. By spraying it on rather than rolling it on, you get a much better, more "finished" look. Remember, if you do decide to go with rubber undercoating make sure you get the paintable kind. Alot of the nonpaintable kinds of rubber undercoating stay tacky and never totally dry. I also found that directly behind the front seats right before where the floor raises up to go into the rear area there is thick seam sealer and the rubber undercoating has never totally dried over it for some reason. If I were to do it again, I would recomend using Rhyno Liner. I've heard it's more durable and dries harder. Plus there is more of a color selection....it's just a lot more money.

trade it in for a Honda. :-D Just joking...no tips here. I just turn the radio up louder. With a swiss cheese looking top like mine...it would take sinking it in a tar pit to make it more quiet. [addsig]
