I was reading a previous topic and something was said about a shifter being farther away from the driver when a lift was put on. I am wanting to put a 2" or 2.5" sus lift on and I want to know if this lift will change anything related to the shifter and the length of the throw. thanks. also if I got a 2" lift then added 1" shackles, would I still need a tc lwr kit? thanks.[addsig]

Your shifter will be a little shorter if you add a body lift or if you do a suspension lift and lower your transmission. This can be avoided by adding a slip yoke eliminator kit and cv driveshaft to the suspension lift (you won't have to lower the transmission). [addsig]

Only if you get a body lift...and for the love of (insert personal icon of worship here) don't get a body lift!!! I have a sus. lift and left the tcase lowering kit on there anyway to help with the angles and there is no trouble getting into 2nd, 4th, R, or any of the 4wd gears. Oh yeah...don't get a body lift. If you are looking at a 2.5" lift...think about the 4". You might want it in the future. Good luck. 8-) [addsig]

Oh yeah...did Natty mention don't get a body lift? Suspension is the way to go. I got the 4" and I am very pleased...I put 31" tires on but now am thinking about 33's and have the room but with the 2.5" I would not. I lowered the skid as well with my lift and it did make the shifters a bit lower but not enough to interfere with shifting at all. Body lifts more than 1" will drop your shifters ALOT...most guys have to have them exetended for proper operation...(not to mention liberal cutting of the tub around were the shifters are to be able to shift into all gears).[addsig]

I put a 4" suspension with 1.5" lowering kit on the transmission, i had to cut some sheet metal to allow the shifter to move easily into 2nd and 4th, no problem with R or 4WL
