I know an SOA is great for offroading, but how does it handle and perform with everyday driving?? I drive my jeep everywhere, and I want an SOA for offroading and looks... but if I drive it to work everyday will it be a pain in the @$$? I heard that it keeps the stock ride because you are using the stock springs but I just wanted to hear from some people that ride around with an soa. thanks![addsig]

Could I bother to ask what SOA stands for?[addsig]

im thinking of doing the soa too. i read alot of places that is isnt the way to go because you'll get alot of spring wrap or axle roll. My Cj7 even has axle perches allready on top of the axles.
Guess we need to hear from someone that has actually done it. A?

well... it all depends on what you consider a good ride... you can make a SOA jeep ride quite well.... but that is with the correct conversions... such as crossover steering, slip-yoke eliminator kit, and such components... if you do anything half-a$$, then you'll know it... it can be a touchy conversion, but if done right, it is a great thing... i've done one, it worked well... we did somethings half-a$$ but even then, it was worth the time and effort, if you have any questions, ask away

Well I plan on doing it right. I may get an SYE cheap and even if I don't the money will be worth not having it work correctly. I have access to a couple welders and a shop full of metal so I will be building a traction/anti wrap bar also. So as long as I do that, I will have the same ride? Sweeeeet.[addsig]

not quite the same ride... but certainly not a bad ride (for a jeep at least)... MAKE SURE you make your spring perches strong enough, and clean the axle really good before you weld them on, and weld them really good and strong.. the last thing you want is a spun axle tube or crushed perches[addsig]

Hey snitty,
I noticed that Quadratec sells spring perches... do you think those are strong enough or should I make my own? Was it you that made his own perches? I guess I should call Quadratec about it too... Thanks for the info [addsig]

yeah we made our own... not too hard to do... and they are stronger than anything i have seen to buy... but i would say that the Qtech ones are quite strong enough[addsig]
