soft doors

ok, i got some soft doors off of ebay and the guy says they are for a yj wrangler. they look like that are for a yj but the latch mechanism is not working with my striker pin for the hard doors. i know i have read about how you have to change that pin for something else but i cannot find that other piece for sale anywhere. i don;t know the proper name to search for it with. the soft doors have a paddle handle on the outside and a loop you pull the slide back with on the inside.

just refer to it as a door latch pin. I had the same problem,got soft doors,but didnt have the pin. I didn't bother to look any where to purchase them since I'm a machinest,and was able to make my own. If ya got a friend that has access to a lathe,he wouldnt have any problem makeing them.If not,you could make them with a large allen head bolt and a piece of flat stock, welder, and drill. If ya havent got a welder to weld the bolt to the flat stock,any muffler shop could weld it togeather for a couple of dollars.

I assume these are bestop doors, there were three latches available for doors that would fit your YJ.

Factory Yj which was a bear claw
Factory early CJ with was a rotary handle
Fiberglass tub doors, I am guessing the last one is the one you will need, check in teh fiber glass tub accessory's section of quadratec or 4wd hardware. I am confindent you will find what yuo need.
