Soft top plastic window restoration

I just purchased a 2003 Wrangler / Sahara. The windows are fogged and have slight scraches in them. What should I use and how do I do it to bring them back to life?

I've tried quite a few products to remove scratches, and the best I've found is Rain-X X-treme Clean Glass Cleaner. It works well and is cheap to boot.

There are other products out there like Meguiar's PlastX and Bestop Vinyl Window Cleaner, and they don't seem to work any better than the Rain-X stuff. Honestly, if you've got deep scratches then you are probably just stuck - save up your money for a new set of windows (you don't have to buy a top, you can replace only the windows).

On my old land cruiser I used to use a heat gun and heat up the scratches carefully but I don't recommend it unless you are good with plastics. To long and it will change the properties of the plastic. The heat also removed the frosted weathering of them to but like I said this way is not for the faint of heart.

I've been using Bestop Vinyl Window Cleaner, but only for preservation thus far but five years ago when I got my replacement Supertop I was/am detirmined to keep it well taken care of given the great expense of this top. I get comments on it and many folks are surprised it looks so new.
