Hi all and thanks for the welcome.
AA= advance adapters
Im planning a chevy 350 conversion for my 99' 4 banger. I dont have all the money right now but i can start getting some of the parts for the conversion
I got the $10 advance adapter catalog (a very good idea if your are planning to make an engine or trans conversion) but still have some questions:
AA said that my trany (ax5) just cant handle a v8. I know i have to get another one. I was thinking in the ax15 (90' and up 6cyl) or nv3550 (00' and up 6cyl). AA said that these transmisions have an excelent gear ratio and are ideal for a v8 conversion. First Question:
I have the np231 trnasfer, Am i need an special adapter to fit the 6 cyl transmision to my NP231 transfer? I know that both 4 and 6 cyl uses the same trasnsfer, but i wonder if the 4 cyl trnasmision join to the transfer in the same way as the 6 cyl transmision do.
Second Question:
What gauges can i spect to keep funtionals after a 350 conversion (speedometer, rpm, gas, temp, bat etc)?
Some facts:
-2.5 is a very good engine. I just need more performance for street driving.
-Ax5 trans is not crap, as i read few post ago. I never had a problem with my transmision. It was designed to handle 4 cyl not 8.
-A jeep with air bags still a jeep!!
Thank you all for the replys and sorry for my english...
