Speedo Gear

Anybody got a 37 or 38 tooth speedo gear for a '94 YJ? I checked the charts after buying my tires and got the 36 tooth gear, but apparently the tires weren't "standard" 31's. Now my speedo reads about 3.5 mph faster at 60 than it should. I don't want to go back to the other gear, as it was waaaay slower, but I also don't want to put more miles on the Jeep than I'm actually travelling. I know it's not a big deal, as I'll probably never sell the Jeep, at least not while actual mileage is pertinent. Email me at sparky-watts@prodigy.net or reply here.

No I can't. I paid the dealer $20 for the 36 tooth gear I have now. The local 4x4 shop wanted $35-$40 for one. I couldn't believe the stealership was lower!!

I got mine for $5.44 from the dealer. maybe mine was used or somthing, but it works and thats what matters.

Well, there's a transmission place here (no, not a bar where men dress as women) that sells used ones for $4.50, but they don't have any.

Is the speedo the same for a tj and yj? If so I may have one at home(37 tooth). If I do you can have it. :wink:

They should be the same, from what I've seen at different places. I'll PM my address to ya!!
