Squeaky shocks

Does anyone have a good method for getting rid of squeaky shocks. One of my Rubicon Express front shocks makes a squeak / moan / grindy sound as I go over bumps. I could hit it with some WD40, or spray silicone, but I wanted to see if there's something better or recommended.

My rear shocks on my XJ always squeak. I hit 'em with a shot of super lube and it goes away for a few weeks.

A dab of dielectric grease on the piston shaft works too.
