Help me figure out this noise please. My jeeps been making this noise for a couple of months now off and on. It sounds like:

Squeeky squeek Squeeky squeek Squeeky squeek

Got that? It doesn't do it all the time and whenever it would do it and I was home I would open the hood to try to pinpoint it and it would have stopped. Well I just realized that when it does do it and I take my foot off the clutch it stops. Clutch in and it starts again. That explains why it would stop when I'd get out to get a better listen.
 So it must be clutch related, right? What could it be and how expensive a fix is that?

Possibly the throw out bearing if i was to guess. That would require the trans to be removed.

So I guess it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace the clutch at the same time. Has anyone used Luk brand clutches?

I had an odd similar issue in my Dad's pickup years ago and more recently in my van. Both were running Ford 300's and the issue eventually found was the rockers themselves 3 on mine given their casting were the source of the squeak. Replaced 'em and that cured it. Was driving me nutz 'till I got it fixed though.

I used 2 sets of that LUK brand high performance clutch on my CJ7 but didn't last as long as the cheaper stock one's. Maybe it's just my gearing on the axles.

Luk is your generic brand sold at Autozones and such. I have heard you get better life out of center force, but you pay to do so.

Another forum I frequent has many people that swear by the Luk brand and won't use anything else. I think it is NAPA's brand also. I ordered a Luk clutch kit yesterday for $90. I'm not too worried if it doesn't last as long as another brand as I'll be selling it by the end of the year. :(

For your listening pleasure, turn up your volume and check it out. Every time I'd try to record it, it would stop.
