ok. guys.
i have a 79 cj-7 with an 88 258cui but i also put a t-5 transmision on
but now the starter makes an unbelivable grinding noise upon starts
it works for a while but a week or so later the start gear is worn out
my fly wheel seems fine, i might try and change it.
but what i was thinking is that i need an 88 starter ?
right now im still using the 79 starter, i tried shimming it didnt help at all
dose anybody know what type of jeep came with a 258 and a t-5 transmision
im pretty sure nothing before 88 came with that trans
