Steering Wheel Spins Freely

Hello!

I am new to this site and just recently bought a '93 Jeep Cherokee 4 wheel drive this past year. The other day the steering wheel just decided to spin freely with no resistance and the wheels wont move... I had to get it towed back to the house and am trying to research the problem and fix it myself but not coming up with much.... Can someone please help me!

Welcome to the site. Check to see if the steering shaft for some reason came loose, broke or fell off. If you can spin it around and around with no resistance at all that's my guess. Check out that and all the front end parts to see if they are all connected and such.

If you can't find anything wrong under the hood, Check the nut holding the steering wheel on.

Thanks so much! I finally figured it out... after doing some research I realized that I need the lower bearing, retainer, and clip for my steering shaft...
