I had to replace the stock mechanical fuel pump with direct OEM part - now the engine dies or sputters if I try to accelerate. How do I adjust fuel mixture? It has a stock single barrel carburetor.

Also, I covered the carburetor with a thick freezer bag and vinyl tape, but water dampened the engine compartment while I cleaned it. Won't start now - I dried inside the distributor cap. Ideas?
