studdering on part throttle

RE: Im Back!!!

Under part throttle and light load my jeep has a slight studder to it. Seems to me like the fuel is cutting on and off. I am figuring that it is probibally the fuel pump as I had noticed a recent change in pitch in the location of the fuel pump. When I give it full throttle the car responds very well.

I was just wondering if there was anything else that I should look at prior to investigating the fuel pump.

...could try just replacing the filter, might be clogged...

ignition, make sure the wires are not arching, also check the points on the distributor cap, could be spark as mcuh as it cold be fuel. maybe the coil in the distributor? all those things should be cleaned and stuff, that would be ur best bet before spending money.

I just replaced the air filter, distributor cap, rotor and wires for my smog this past may. I will take a look at them again before i replace the fuel pump though.

Anyone else have any ideas.

Oil Pressure gauge or sending unit?

mr2fyre, mine does the same thing. not to steal away from you, but just when i first start her up...usually after that shes fine, but sometimes she'll studder lightly like you said. has never stalled though. 94 xj here, gonna try and change the fuel filter. ill keep you posted
