I just did a 6 inch lift on my 95 yj and now I need bigger tires, I have brand new 30x9.50x15 on it now and need to go bigger, but I really want to get the best tire size for the combination I have.. please give me some input.
With that much lift you could easily clear 36s but I doubt your axles would hold them and you're going to need lower gears than what's available for the 30/35 axles you have. 4.88 is as low as you can go and with a 4 banger those would only be OK with 33s and a slug with anything bigger.
Yup. I wouldn't go over 33 inch tires with stock axles. You might want to start saving up for a gear change and rear axle replace in the near future. The dana 35 is at it's breaking point with 33 inch tires and lower gears will help you scoot along easier.
I went with the 6" due to the fact that it was free.. so I couldn't pass it up.. as for the tires I need something bigger but don't want to make the jeep slower than it already is.
