Whats the biggest tire for a 15 inch rim i can put on my factory 1996 limited edition grand cherokee? thanks in advance

with or without lift? without - 30x9.5's will fit with only minor rubbing at full flex (and with wheel turned).... I run those on my 95 ZJ with the stock rims, no lift.

with a 2" lift you should be able to stuff a 31 in there without much trouble, but any wider than 9.5" and you'll rub at full lock without increasing the backspace on the rims. I plan on a 2" lift and eventually 31x10.5's on stock rims. I have no issue with minor rubing.... My tires rub slightly when i hit the stop on the right turn, but not an issue cause you dont steer that hard normally anyway.

My wife's cousin has a 2" spacer lift on his GC and runs a 31x10.50. I wish I had a pic, it doesn't look bad at all.

Too bad you don't have 16" wheels. 245x75x16's are like a 31x9.50.

My 94 is lifted with front to rear swap I gained almost 4". I run 31X10.50's on stock rims and like graewolf I rub only when turning hard right and none at all to the left. I also have skyjacker lower control arms which have no sharp edges like the stock ones do so I am not worried about the little rub. My wife wants hers lifted with a budget boost and I will put 30X9.50's on it. I know I could go bigger on both these jeeps but with the sway bar disco'd I know It wont be just the control arms I would be rubbing on. If your really plan on flexing the jeep alot then I would recommend not going up to the max and leave yourself a little room for articulation. If you dont plan on wheeling it hard stuff the bigger tires in there. They would definatly fill up the wheel well.
