TJ Tow Hooks

I'm installing the older (YJ type) tow hooks on my TJ, but noticed that there are two composite plastic moldings on the front bumper that would seem to be in the way, at least partially, of mounting them properly. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I think many TJ owners install the hooks and let them smash the rubber baby bumpers as the hooks are tightened down.

Oh okay. So they are rubber and they will just squish down then? That sounds doable. Hopefully it doesn't look too bad. Thanks for the reply.
