Tow Hook Advice

I want to replace the tow hooks that I have on the front of my TJ "old ones from my truck" with new ones and put the old ones on the back of the jeep. I think that I can get the rear ones mounted but I have a question on what is available for the front ones. Quadratech sells the "factory" style but they have no keeper clips and I kinda hate how they look. I was thinking about the explorer pro comp ones shown here http://www.4wheelparts.com/product2.asp?imseqn=464 or better yet "cheaper" here
http://www.quadratec.com/cgi-bin/sg...2&UREQC=3&UREQD=4&FNM=00&UID=2003032422035166
don't know if they will fit my TJ correctly....any help from the group?

Thanks,

Hoss

Bumper about 200 bucks
D Rings about 25 bucks
Knowing your bumper is going to still be there when they pluck your jeep out of a really bad place with it Priceless. Tug[addsig]

DO NOT GET THOSE HOOKS!!!!!!

I have a pair of the Powder Black and they will not fit the Front. Unless, you can find the Extended bolts. The bolt that come in those Kits are different Threads. The reason that matters is because the Nut for the Front tow hooks are welded to the Inside of the Frame.

With that out here are the Options:

Drill new holes for the Hooks that you showed, which could bend the bumper when you have to be wenched out.

Or Find those extended Torc bolts with the correct Threads so that you can mount then where they should be. Doinging it this way you will have to remove the Rubber Bumperettes that are stock. They will have to go, because the Hook will not sit flat, and well, the hook extends beyond the rubber so it doesn't do any good anyhow.

Hope that helps.

And YES Tug, that bumper is Nice. :-D

So....does anyone have a good choice for tow hooks that work look nice on the front and will pull me out without worry of bending. Maybe I should just go ahead and get the stock replacement ones from quadratech.

I am working on getting the 10k hooks attached. You can prolly get them on the front part of the Frame just behind the bumper. If you want them visable I would suggest the OEM hooks or just another bumper, like the One Tug suggested.[addsig]
