Will a 46RH or 46RE transmission bolt up to a NP231 transfer case?

Yes, with the proper input shaft on the 231.
The 231 is marginal to handle the power of a v8, I'd recommend upgrading the 231 to a wide chain setup and a 6-gear planetary.

I believe I have a 23 spline input shaft because I have a 4.0 auto 3 speed it's the TF999 I was looking around to see if the 5.2 magnum would bolt up to that transmission but could find much so I figure if I have the transmission that comes with the 5.2 which it could be 44RE 46RH 46RE I was hoping that it would just bolt right up to the transfer case cause I do not want to spend 500$ on an adapter.
