Use aftermarket intakesone

anyone use one on their carb'd I6 engines? Which ones work with an auto transmission? Its getting time to mod the engine for a bit more oomph.

No one is using an aftermarket intake manifold?

guess not, plus your initial question was a little vague, at first I though you were asking about cold air intakes or something, not intake manifold.

offenhouser (sp) is the only company off the top of my head that makes a performance I6 intake. it is a very good quality unit, I helped a friend install one years ago to run a 4 bbl carb. honeslt, for the price of the intake and new carb and all thre tuning require, find an EFI kit.

Well, I would but I have different carbs already and I won't buy an intake new. I am to cheap for that.i know clifford and offenhauser but the offenhauser is a dual plane and set up so you to run a r barrel. the clifford is a single plane so i found one and am thinking of adapting it to use a motorcraft

Why not smooth and port match the manifold to the head, won't cost more than a couple debiring stones and your time. IT's pretty well known that stock I 6 don't flow all that well between components.

On the stock intake? Or an aftermarket one? Jps4jeep, are you the one with a new style fuel injection intake and a carb on top of an adapter? Someone has that and I would do that but that person had to have n adapter made. I don't have the machine shop access to custom make an adapter

no I do not have that set up. unless the jeep is strickly street driven and very lite wheeler, I always install some type of EFI, weather aftermarket or adapting a TBI, MPI what have you.
