So, I think Mingez asked for an RSS feed some time ago, and I said to myself "what the heck is an RSS feed?" Well, I installed Vista, and found that I can have news (RSS) feeds on my desktop. I've turned it on, and I must admit, it's pretty cool!
oh yeah, if you have a newer internet explorer, just click on the rss feed button (looks like and orange square). This will give you the latest threads from Jeepz.com.
You can also pull rss feeds from other places. I have a block on my computer's desktop that now displays the latest threads (it's feature of vista though).
Well I spent alot more money when I bought this computer 2 months ago so I could upgrade to Vista. I figured on upgrading after the first SP comes out for it. How's it working? Any bugs?
Very cool, I'll have to give it a try. I live by my RSS feeds and just about get my fill of all my favorites websites without ever having to actually go to the site. I highly recommend Google reader. http://www.google.com/reader.
Hey Terry, you may want to put this link on the main page so people will know you've got the RSS feed thing going. In firefox it shows up where the URL is as an orange box but I don't think it does in IE6 or IE7.
You won't need Vista to get ESS feeds, if you have Internet Explorer 7 (its a free download from Microsoft) or you can use a seperate RSS accumulator such as http://www.jetbrains.com/omea/ Omea another free download that will do RSS even Newsgroups. I love RSS feeds, get the headlines you want, at your desktop, if the headline looks interesting, click on it and there you go. No need to check 20 websites a day. I use it for Jeep news, Sports, computer etc...
