what alternator to buy??

I need a new alternator my old one sounds like a family of squirrels under the hood. I run a mark 8 e fan 8000lbs warn winch two kc daylighters HID headlights and upgraded stereo with sound bar,10" sub and 900watt amp. and the Cb. what amp alternator should I run. I was thinking 170 or 200 maybe? What brand should I look for? Cheap is always good and IM not afraid of the junk yard if there's a good swap anyone knows....maybe Durango? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Best junkyard upgrade I know of is the 136A alternator out of Dodge trucks and vans. Gotta spend more to get more amps than that. I think the 136a should do what you need.

Is it easy swap into my 2.5l what year dodge?

Very easy, just swap the plastic boot on the back of your stock alternator over to the 136a as they're clocked differently. You may have to swap pulleys too, as your stock is 6groove and the 136a might be 7groove.

OEM 136 amp alternator (OEM PN:56027913) that was an option on the following vehicles:
1997-1998 Dodge B-Series Van
1997-1998 Dodge Dakota
1998 Dodge Durango
1997-1998 Dodge Ram Pickup
1997-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee (V8)
