what engine will fit 94 yj?

Looking for replacement engine for 94 yj sport. Had 4cyl 2.5 . What year engine will fit right in without any mods & reasonable priced ?

You looking for another 4 cyl? Are you looking to upgrade to 6 or 8 cyl?

A 2.5L of similar year is the only option for no mods and reasonable price.

4cyl will do / what would I need if I went with a 6 cyl?

Not an easy or affordable swap. You would need to cut the motor mount perches from the frame and weld new ones, not to mention the 6cyl wiring harness. Also need the transmission, transfer case, and driveshafts from a 6cyl jeep.

Much cheaper and easier to sell your Jeep and buy a 4.0L Jeep if that's what you want, avoiding a hacked up install of a motor swap.
