The receivers on most SWB Jeeps are only rated at 3500lbs, and 5000lbs max on a Class III that are usually on LWB Jeeps. A SWB Jeep will weigh close to 3500lbs or more, and when you add the resistance of going up hill or being stuck frame deep in muck, the winch will be pulling much more than 3500lbs and even 5000lbs.
Sooo, I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than pulling on level ground on a hard surface. Side pulls are out of the question too. I have a Warn M8274 on the front of my YJ, and have never been in a situation where I could have used the convenience of a receiver mounted winch.[addsig]
