Re: RE: Got CB installed

Has anyone ever replaced a Wiper Moter in a Cherokee before?

It sounds like mine has actually come loose from it's mounts.
I can hear it running, and clunking arround inside when i switch it on, but the wipers don't move. What is involved in changing the moter?
It sonds like it is under / behind the Dash, but i haven't taken a hard look
I'm Just trying to decide if this is something I should undertake myself, or bring it to the shop. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Remove the cowl vent cover on the driver's side, and it's right there, easy to get to. It's bolted to studs that come through the firewall from the engine side. Once you pop that cover you'll likely see that an arm is broken, allowing the motor to move without moving the arms.

Thanks a lot BH this did the trick!
It was an easy Job actually...
The Bolt holding the motor bracket down had come loose, so the motor was flopping arround enough that the couple of spot welds holding the bracket to the frame came loose as well. Luckily the linkage did not get damaged. I just drilled out a couple of holes and bolted it back on. Saved me hundreds at the shop no doubt!

Another happy Jeepz ending!!!! I love this site! Welcome aboard, christianparker....don't be a stranger.

I like this part... Been there many a time, a suggestion here, or an idea there, and all of a sudden, you're back on the road... Good stuff, good stuff.
