Wrangler Won't Start

I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. Went to the store and wouldn't start when I came out. All lights came on bright, but when I turned the key nothing, not even that tic tic tic. Called AAA and he hit the starter with a long pole while I turned the key, but still nothing. In my past experience when a starter goes you are aware of it for some time until you are finally stuck somewhere. That cranking sound for months I ignore until too late. Was reading the forum and saw some people mention the alternator or ignition switch?? Going to auto zone tomorrow and see if they have any ideas. Want to try and fix it with my son this weekend. I'm pretty mechanical (science teacher) and think I can handle it. Any suggestions would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

2010 JK models has a module called the "Wireless control Module". Sometimes this module will lockup. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 2 minutes then reconnnect and see if it resets. If not, you probbably need to take it to a dealer to get the computer scanned and see if any of the modules are not communicating on the network. There are times that the red key lamp on the instrument panel would either blink or stay on steady. this would indicate a clear sign of the WCM failure or lockup.
