RE: Re: RE: Heard of this Winch?

Yes I know it's a good joke. My T-150 is toasted and I would like to replace it with a T-18. If any one has one for around $600 within 4 hours of Charleston, SC please drop me an email. I will come and pick it up. Transmission must be in working condition for top $$$. I will consider ones that need a rebuild but will pay drastically less.

Thanks all, Karl Kobernus

RE: Spontaneous Electrical Fire

I'm not too far from you, here in Wilmington NC, and all I can say is good luck.
What is this going in? If it's going in a SWB, you need to make sure you are VERY specific in what T18 you want. Jeep used like 12 or 14 different versions.......IH used 2 or 3......and Ford had 3. The only ones that are an easy swap into yours is the 72-79 CJ version T18b or the 76-79 CJ version T18a. The "B" is close ratio with a 4.02 first gear and the "A" model has the wide ratio 6.32 first. All the other ones will have inputs and adapters that make them too long to fit the SWB without modification.

I think a Ford T18/T19 or NP435 can be bolted to your engine using the T-150 bellhousing, and then adapting to your Tcase.....or even better, upgrading to a D300 at the same time.

It will be going into a 79 cj7 with a 304 and I am not sure what transfer case it is. It's still the stock transfer so I am not sure what it is. A dana 20??? I have just started with jeeps and don't know a ton about them other than they are a lot of fun. I plan on going with a dana 300 and a t-18, just need to find them for a good price and close to the house.
