ZJ Front end MYSTERY wobble....

ColoradoZJ

OK guys, heres the deal.... i have a 95 ZJ with the 1 3/4 inch coil spacers in front to level it out. I have had the spacers and some 30x9.50 BFG Mud terrains on the car for over a year now. About a month ago, i noticed a HUGE wobble when i go 45 mph. Heres what I have done to try and fix it....

1. Tire Balancing (of course)....... NO HELP

2. Replaced wheel Bearings and one CV axleshaft(torn boot)..... NO HELP

3. Took to suspension shop where they checked all of the tie rods ect for loose parts..... NO HELP

4. Replaced Steering Stabilizer with Pro Comp.... EVEN WORSE NOW

My only thought is alignment, but how could an alignment fix a wobble?? even the guys at the shop said it wouldnt help, but i have heard that its all i need. I have a 3"inch skyjakcer kit on its way from 4wheelparts.... WHICH BY THE WAY IS BY SOME MISTAKE ONLY $454 dollarsRIGHT NOW!!!.... and i need ot get it taken care of fast. Any help would be appreciated.

Take a real close look at the steering box, there was a run of ZJ´s with overtorqued steering box, mounting bolts. That caused a frame crack. That on a few ZJ´s, caused the steering box to fall completely off. No chit. Did you get a recall for tires? That you never went to the shop with. It wasn´t really the tires they wanted to look at.
Just something to check out, even if it´s not your problem, it´s worth a look see.

I agree with MC, check the steering gearbox and get an alignment. When you replaced the stabilizer and it got worse it would make me think it is the steering gearbox or one of its components. Have someone get in and shake the wheel back and forth and look at all of the linkage. Look for any linkage component that may roll or twist as the wheels go back and forth that would allow play in the steering system. also check your tire presure. If one is under or over inflated it can cause this.
