I found a deal on a 2000 TJ. My plan is to do this in the driveway and in the process teach my sons how to fab and weld. Kids are 6 and 2.
The build:
Doors
New Fenders and Paint
New Top
Sliders
Budget Boost
Tires and wheels
Armor
Custom bumpers and tire carrier

I had to do alot of cutting to get the old plow frame off.
I pay my metal prep department with Kit-Kat's.

Sound like a fun project. Take a lot of photos and video so you can re-live it again in the future. One of my most cherished photos is of me with my dad while we're pulling the inline 4 out of his 1959 Jeep and getting ready to drop in a 327 Chevy. I will probably 12 years old.

That's a pretty nice looking TJ from what I can see. Let me know how things work out for you - My 4 year old is interested in Jeeps, and always wants to help, but with an attention span of about 3 minutes the lessons have to be short.

BTW - are those a couple of logs holding up your Jeep?

Yes logs. They don't sink into the blacktop. Or move when I wrench on it. I have to get some better jack stands. I keep the old tires and rims under it just in case. I'm in ocean city Nj now. Lots of jeeps here.

I hadn't thought of a jack sinking into the blacktop, but it does make sense.

I need to come up there and have you teach me to weld too
