Battery inside of a bag?

I just noticed that my battery is in some type of plastic insulated bag? Is this a factory thing or something else?

Its probably a battery blanket. My Neon had one. It draws very low current and keeps the battery warm so you have easier starts in the cold.[addsig]

It is aftermarket product. It is really supposed to be for really cold climates it is insulation for the battery.[addsig]
