Full Traction Spring Over Axle kit - opinions???

Super Swamper TSL Narrow Special Service... designed primarily for light trucks such as Toyotas and Jeeps.

I like 'em! Good tip Bounty, ya got me thinkin'...

I ran the 34"x10.5" LTB in the rockcrawl comp with no rubbing, so I'll be fine witht he 34x9.5 SS Swamper. Probably get as little backspacing as possible in a 7" wide rim, and may even use 1" wheel spacers to get the wider safer stance to to the jeep. Gotta get new rims since I'm switching to the 6-lug D44's.

Bounty, I'm just curious because I know you play on the rocks alot.... is the increased contact pressure the reason you like the skinny tires? Are they easier to "place" in the rocks?
I know a couple of guys running those on small size trucks like Nissans and a guy that runs them on a Dodge Ram 50 becuase they just can't buy a big lift like you can for most trucks and the narrow tread fits better. Is it a fitment thing or a performance thing with you?

Mostly performance and personal preference. I ride trails more than I compete on the rocks, so the rocks will come second in that aspect. While the contact patch is smaller, there is more psi on a smaller contact patch. It's give and take, there's more offroad traction in some instances, and less in others.

I've noticed the wider tires tend to stay on top of the rocks easier, especially when you're trying to stay on a rock with a ridge on the top. When aired down the wider tire has more surface area to wrap around that rock.

I'll be keeping my 2.5L and I want to keep the rotating mass down as much as possible, so I want the tire height without all the weight of a 12.5" or wider tire. I'll be able to spin them up quicker in the mud, and less rotating mass when onroad as well. Not to mention less wind resistance, the rolling brick of a jeep needs all the help it can get ;)

Hurry up and get that SOA installed. I want to read a review.
I love when tire talk comes up. We always post the same thing. Bounty always says the special service swamper, I always say a TSL, SX or Bogger...I guess everyone has personal preferences.
Have they come out with a 36" Irok yet? They are hard to beat on performance and weight. Less weight = less broken junk.

I have talked to that company that makes the bolt on kit. I is still in development. It isnt even for sale as of yet. Plus you can do the SOA yourself for not a whole lot more!

The Full Traction kit is for sale now. It has been for a while - at least 6 months or so that I know of.
