Hi everyone - I just bought my first jeep on friday. A 95 YJ with the 2.5, so far i love it. I changed the plugs/wires/dist. cap/fuel filter/removed the airflow restrictor this weekend. but here is my problem -

I failed my emissions test today (running to rich) is there a fix i can do on my own or do I need to take her in to the Jeep dealership for diagnostics?

Any help is appreciated...

It's a sensor...Check your O2. They're about 60 bucks.

Are you getting a check engine light?

There are some additives that guarantee passing if you don't find anything else, or want a little insurance after fixing the real problem.

I was recently running rich too (and recently posted this elsewhere but for the wrong type of jeep) and it was the fuel pressure regulator in my 91 YJ with the 2.5. Hook up a pressure gauge to the fuel rail and see if it is out of whack, if so replace. You will want to replace the O2 as well if you have been running rich.
