I´ve used plumbers puddy, on some things I want to get back into on occasion. The same product used in refrigeration applications seems to work better (doesn´t get hard and sticks better) just have to make sure it´s free of oil and you don´t get the oil from your fingers in there.
My son came up with a good idea, I´ve used with success on some pieces. A simple small plastic bag with the bottom cut out, and two twist ties or cable ties. Maybe a dab of puddy or silicon where it ties. You can see if there is moisture in there and it can be removed quickly.
I´ve always been a little affraid sealing sprays will get in the same place the water does and cause problems.[addsig]
