so the 03" TJ is getting lifted about 4" could somebody help me out with kits.....
Skyjacker makes a 4" rock ready kit seems to have all the goodies i'll ever need besides the slip yoke...and RE makes a 4.5" superflex and Long arm..anyone know the differnce between the two RE kits? or any advice on them?..whats better[addsig]

The longarm kit requires drastic measures like cutting the upper control arm mounts from the frame, a point of no return. The longarm will perform much better, more flex and less likely to lift a tire under throttle. But, costs much more $$. I wouldn't bother with a longarm at 4", but would do it on a coil sprung jeep lifted 5" and up.[addsig]

I have the 4" Skyjacker and i like it.I havent had any problems w/ it. A lot of people say Skyjacker coils are weak and sag quickly but mine have not sagged at all after 2 months. It flexes well and rides good too. I have a 2" spacer lift on top of that too. I didnt have the money to go longarm but i replaced all the controll arms and i dont have any problems w/ it. If you are gonna get the Rock Ready then i would highly recommend it, that is one awesome lift, they are expensive but i belive you get what you pay for. Look at getting the Rubicon Express "Hack it and tap it" kit. It is a poor mans SYE. It essentially does the same thing. It is only like $100 compared to a true SYE which would cost you $300 or more. I have it and it works fine nd i have no wobbly at all. It is a good idea if you arent wanting to sink money into a crappy t-case. You might be able to get away w/out a SYE if you are only going 4" and 33s but probably not. Good luck on your lift and tell us what you decide on.[addsig]

I would suggest a 2" suspenssion and 3" body at the Most. Accourding to Jeep that is about all you can do without voiding your warrentee.[addsig]

Skyjacker might be the way to go here..i'm thinking after reading about these lifts and stuff....so then its skyjacker 4" I do need the SYE and stuff huh? if in the future i want to run say..35"s all i need is like 2" coil spacers right? and mayhap a body lift[addsig]

I had just typed a WHOLE POST and hit ONE key to erase it all. Oh well, lemme try again.

I believe the tire size that my local Dealership uses on their "Bigfoot Editions" are 35s. If you like I can Inquire with them.

I wanted to do all the work on my Jeep myself, so, I personally went to my dealership and asked exactly what Mods I could do and still not void warentee. Anything more than 2"suspenssion and 3" body and DC can say they will not Honor any warentee.[addsig]

my dealer said ya raise the suspension..do a body lift mess with axle gearing...VOID! but thats just one of the little man from the big company so mayhap i should take it up with like tech support or somthing like that..yeah i think he said my electrical system will be still under...and i'm getting that new 7 year dealie too...traded in the old 4 cylinder for the 6. 2 more weeks till she gets here... then my weekends of jeep work frustrate me to no end[addsig]

there isn't much if any extra work to be done with the 3" body lift. But when you get into adding different suspension (arms and stuff) that will void it also. With the 2" and 3" you only have to add brackets nothing has to be replaced. Replacement of parts is what voids it.

If I haven't told you, I just bought an 03 TJ X. So I brought all these questions to my mechs at the dealer.

Somebody's feeding you some BS about warranty coverage. The Magnusson Moss Warranty Act spells out that warranty work can be denied only if the part failure can be DIRECTLY related to the modification. It doesn't matter how high a suspension or body lift is, or what combination of each. If you want to install a 4" suspension lift, your warranty is fine for any failure not related to the suspension lift.[addsig]

so I was doing me some thinking..could I drop the SYE if I say..got the rancho 2.5" rock crawler kit and use 2" coil spacers? or adding the spacers will need the SYE anyway? [addsig]
