I run KC daylighters for long range night driving (long range beam pattern), and KC Slimlights (Fog Light Pattern - I swapped the bulbs for 55W ones, so I can use them all the time and not blind oncoming traffic). I am happy with that setup, as it was not that expensive, and have held up well to abuse.
Originally, I had the daylighters installed on the windshield hinges, but those would not work with the snorkel, so I had to relocate them to the hood hinges. To be honest, the KC Daylighters on the windshield hinge worked beautifully; on the hood, they work, but you do get a lot of glare.
The Fog Lights, you want them as low as possible (but away from obstacles, obviously!) and as far apart as possible. For the long range beams, it is not as critical where you place them.
I use a relay for each pair, and I took the positive signal for the switch from the parking lights, so if I turn off my lights (the Jeep lights), all Auxiliarly lights are shut down as well. In case of my long range lights, I took the positive for the switch from the brights, so again, I can turn the long range lights whenever I switch my brights on, or I can leave them off. It's a lot easier to manage the lights like that. In case of my backup light, I have a 3 position switch, so it can be OFF, I can turn it on in AUTO whenever I put the Jeep in Reverse, or I can turn it on whenever the lights are on.
