i have a 1974 jeep cj5 and I want to remove the steering wheel but i cant seem to find the appropriate steering wheel puller, it doesn't come off like any of the others. can anyone help me out?

I think you need one of those big three clawed ones that can reach through the spokes & grab the back side of the wheel's hub. Prolly can rent one from the big box parts store. Advance auto gives all the $$$ back when you are finished borrowing tools.

I had bookmarked a link showing how someone used some tie down straps & an old scissor jack, but I can't find it.

EDIT; Found it, right on this board too. See Uncle bill's link in post #9 first, then the one in post #8

I LOVE back woods innovation. When you can't buy/rent a tool you make one.

GREAT information and innovation.

I liked it too, as I tend to do things the same way myself!

Funny how unclebill was seemingly unaware of how redneck his idea is.
