Mc 2100

You can sometimes take a smaller drill bit and drill right beside the easyout and it'll work it out. You might even have to drill beside it on both sides. If you end up screwin the hole up you can either put a helicoil in it or maybe tap it the next closest size in metric or fine thread. The thing about easyouts is they're hard as the back of supermans head, they don't flex , give or bend. I think it's best if the broken bolt wont budge to use as big an easyout as you can get in it. I like to use left handed drill bits on broken bolts, alot of times they'll catch it and pull it out since they're turnning the way the bolt will be removed. Heat always helps but as you know that's a bad place to have a torch. Good luck with it and take your time.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to use a torch on my manifold. I have had the heat created from drilling with a bit loosen things up. If you test fit one of the other holes to get the size you need and start with small bits and working you way up to the correct size you will probably start to see the outlines of the threads, and you can run the tap in it at that point and it should pull the remaining peices out. USE CARBIDE BITS. I was at the store buying bits and seen the easyouts, and grabed acouple just in case. I have had luck with the drill bit and never had to use the easy outs..

I am officially living a nightmare. Almost two days of drilling and I have managed to get about 1/4 inch. Good thing I don't need the jeep this week. I thought the hard part would be figuring out the vacuum lines, boy was I wrong.

16 bucks a bit x 2 bits for 1/4 inch. Have 1 full inch to go. You do the math. How much for a new intake manifold??? AAAGGGHHH!! It's all good. Owning a jeep is like marriage, you know what your gonna get before you do it, yet you still do it. Ha ha.

Man I wish I were there, you wouldn't believe how many broken bolts I deal with in my job. Worst thing is to get frustrated, walk away if you need to.

I'd ship you a intake, but I'm in the middle of the pacific so you will probably have it out before it gets there. Lol

808, I appreciate the thought. Deep breaths and cold beer is my solution.

Right on bro. Always works for me

Aww damn, your in Hawaii. Bet your weather is better than a winter in MD. I might still ask for that intake depending how the next few days go. Lol.

Most of the time it is but when it rains it pours. We can get over a hundred inches in a month. Sad part is I only got a bikini top. Ha ha

Alas!!! That dag on stud has been ground out. I have to clean up the treads a bit. (well, a lot) Here she is (a dry run of course, make sure all the gaskets fit.

Now, still have to figure out throttle linkage and these darn vacuum lines.
